The first experimental machine in the RESILEX system

HEX is being developed to test a complete loop: receive a digital earthworks task, carry it out, measure the terrain and compare the result with the project.

The machine is a means to develop the interface between the Orchestrator and the physical world. Tracked and six-legged layouts remain open design directions; the final arrangement will follow engineering evidence rather than appearance.

What HEX is intended to test

One machine, one clear engineering loop

The first version does not need to solve every construction task. It needs to make the task, execution and measured result work together.

    Receive the target geometry, work zone, limits and acceptance criteria.

    Human approval

    Let an operator review the task and retain the ability to stop or take control.

    Machine execution

    Control mobility and excavation equipment through the machine interface.

    Terrain sensing

    Estimate position, understand the work area and measure the changed surface.

    Result check

    Compare the measured terrain with the required geometry and tolerances.

    Accept the operation, investigate the deviation or prepare another pass.

Why start here

Earthworks expose the whole problem early

The machine must understand a changing surface, control a heavy tool, work safely around obstacles and prove that the ground now matches the intended result.

Open layout study

Tracked and six-legged concepts answer different questions

A tracked platform offers familiar mobility and mechanical simplicity. A six-legged layout may provide new ways to stabilise and position the machine. Simulation and engineering analysis must decide which advantages are real.

Built around the task

Removing the cab changes the layout, not the need for service

Without a permanent operator station, space can be used differently for structure, sensing, energy and tools. Access for inspection, repair and safe manual recovery remains essential.

Performance figures will follow engineering work

Mass, power, digging force, speed, accuracy, runtime and environmental limits are not yet fixed. The next step is a digital model and simulation of the first excavation scenario.
